So Many Real Estate Websites – Which Should You Choose?

There are many real estate website solution providers out there today.  And of course there’s also the option of going with a custom website.  This is an expensive options, but if you can afford it, I say do it – right.  Make sure you take the time to check references and google results for this person or company that says they can build you your dream site.  If all the sites in their portfolio are doing not so well on Google, why would you want them involved with your site?  You wouldn’t.  That said, if you cannot afford a custom site, which most agents cannot, I suggest you go with Advanced Access.  I have nothing to gain by recommending them…no affiliate code or anything.  And I know they have had their issues in the past as all growing solution providers have, but here’s why I believe you should give them a try…

Advanced Access - get customized by real estate virtual assistantCustomization.  Advanced Access provides the most customization options of any canned solution I have seen out there.  When working on a client’s AA site, I have complete control over Title tags, Description Tags and Keyword tags…for each and every page that I create.  I can create a totally custom home page for each client, whether they choose to go that route or not is up to them, so that their site doesn’t look like everyone else’s out there.  I have greater control of how much content I can put whereever I want than I would on most other sites.  Content is key to search engine results…as are all the Title, Description and Keyword tags.

Now, if you don’t believe me, and think that what I am saying is just hype, I have a link for you.  It’s to eSourceAgent.com and a survey they did to determine the 100 best performing real estate agent sites on the web.  40 out of those 100 sites were AA sites, and the rest were mostly custom, with a couple Homes.com, #1Expert, and misc. others thrown in.  Now, I know that AA usually has some pretty steep setup fees that turn people off from their services, but all things in life are negotiable.  Contact me and I can help you with that…no strings.  Your Real Estate Virtual Assistant can set up your website to be a reflection of you, your industry, and your market…give them the information that they need to drive buyers and sellers to you.  Then forget about it and let your Real Estate VA take care of the rest.  Not all Real Estate Virtual Assistants are skilled in html or SEO practices, so if you need help finding one, please contact me directly via the form at the right.  You can also always contact the Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce and fill out an RFP for a qualified Real Estate VA as well.

Who’s your website with?  Does it perform well for targeted keywords in your real estate market?  The new year is around the corner and it’s time for change.  Out with the old that’s not working and in with the new, the proven.  If your AA site isn’t performing as well as you would like – it probably was never optimized for your needs in the first place. Contact me and I will try to provide you with some tips for improvement.  Again, no strings (but if lots of you ask, then you’re going to have to be patient for my responses, I do have a business to run :-)

  • I went with a custom solution, hiring a design team and a web consultant. A custom site, while not cheap, allowed us to make sure the site truly presented our approach to visitors and would meet their unique needs.

  • Christine - I recently went with a custom site (not AA, but REW) and even though it's only a couple of months old, the results are fantastic. I have to agee with you that custom is the way to go.
