This was a very informative accessment of this process and I found it very interesting. Another great reason to have a professional realtor handling all of this for you. You don't want to go in and offend the seller.

I totally agree with this article!

All Real Estate agents need to take control over when it comes to present offers to sellers since its a constante battle when both parties do not want to cooperate.

It's interesting to see that at least in 3 countries (Canada, USA, Mexico) , think the same way on how to manage when an offer gets in!!

We know someone will have to pay for the loss of taxes. It will be interesting to see the laws which change as we weed
through the end of this down market.

I think agents are best to represent a client when it comes to this and being honest with agent on exactly what your will accept as final offer and what you will not pay more then gives them the knowledge to better understand how they need to respond on your behalf.

Great post. The agents should always be the ones handling all offers and negotiations. It's just too emotional for the buyers and sellers to do.

I agree, the agents should handle all offers and negotiations. The buyers & sellers many times don't know how to handle these matters correctly.

Excellent insightful advice and an even better review of a critical aspect of being an agent. Basically its about keeping it together yourself and conveying that to your seller when they try and take a low offer personally as if it were an insult versus a business proposition.

Thanks!
