  • Tom, this survey was meant on for REALTORS. Of course they voted for their own brand, that's what they were asked to do. They however also had to vote for each of the other brands and it is that combined vote that offers us an interesting perspective into the current thinking of real estate professionals.

There have been many other consumer surveys on real estate agents and real estate brands. From JD Powers to the Harris Poll. This survey was to see what real estate professionals thought about the industry franchise brands. It's not a better truth, it is a different "truth or point of view."
  • Matt, not sure follow. Every agent was forced to vote 33 times - once for each of the 33 franchises listed. They were given a scale from 0-5, from "Do Not Know This Brand", to "Weak", "Average", "Good", "Very Good" to "Exceptional". That way of voting agents did not have to choose for one brand above another nor could they only vote for their brand.

Matt, also multiple votes from the same IP addresses were removed from the results as well as any other discrepancies.

We now know what the agents think (They voted for themselves--Many times it seems). Now, what do the consumers that need to sell a home think? That would tell a better truth!
  • Hey Stefan,

Earlier you posted "...Over 10,000 agents have already cast over 350,000 votes..." indicating an average of 35 votes per agent. I wonder what the survey results would look like if you count one ballot per unique IP address?

I'd betting there were some all-night Koo-lade sessions stuffing the ballot box. I, for one, would be up for a count of unique votes as opposed to votes. It would be much more meaningful to me.

Clearly, with 11,000 agents the margin of error would still be 0.9% and hence very accurate. Thanks for the great work!
